Luxe Lineup: Hermès Fall/Winter 2026 Collection
Nadège Vanhée’s latest collection for Hermès was inspired by the concept of chiaroscuro, an artistic technique applied by using contrast between light and dark to create depth and intensity. One of the most famous applications being the painting of The Girl With The Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer where dramatic lighting and the contrast of the girl’s fair skin next to the pure black background work to create the effect.
The perception of chiaroscuro in the Hermès collection is not only seen, but felt. Leathers and metals are at the forefront of most outfits, creating a hardened, almost matrix look. This is balanced out by the use of soft yellows and beiges, adding to the dimensionality of the look. There is little to no movement to the pieces, and the cut of the fabrics is severe and blunt showing off the integrity of the leathers and once again adding to the intense feeling of the collection overall.
The wearability of the looks varies from avant garde pieces like head-to-toe leather bike suits, to slacks, button downs, and blazers. Signature looks from the brand including riding boots and Birkin bags help maintain the heart of the Hermès brand, while half gelled down hair and intense black eyeliner give the looks the edge and intensity chiaroscuro craves.
The designs were a flawless execution of chiaroscuro while keeping the heritage of the brand intact, earning the show the rank of Opulent Allure.
