Tailored Expositions: Hermès Fall/Winter 2026 Collection Is As Good As It Gets

“Clothes for right now and forever.” That is how Hermès describes their Fall/Winter 2026 collection for men, which is an aesthetic spectacle; a timeless sight to behold. Véronique Nichanian’s conclusion of her 37-year tenure as the brand’s artistic director for menswear, before Wales Bonner’s takeover, showed that Hermès prioritizes technical skill and emphatic simplicity. Her vision of the Hermès man, who explores and evolves through rhythm, time, and innovation, came to life through the movement of the clothes - which are “men’s companions from a life in motion”.

Long capes for coats, and heavy drapes that stick to the elongated silhouettes, all finessed by an ash palette, made this elegantly structured idea of menswear look serious and dignified. The catwalk felt mature. The sewing weaved refinement. The outfits looked controlled. Boardroom, office, outdoors - you could wear it for all. It was the epitome of versatility. A true masterclass.

Certain aspects were reminiscent of previous collections, and reminded of this year’s collections by Dries Van Noten and Prada. The world of fashion looks to the sides to find inspiration, quite clearly. Picasso said, however, that “good artists copy, great artists steal”. Neither brand stole or copied from each other, that was in mere jest, but if any of them did it was Hermès who stole - for this was the work of a great artist. Genius. Easy suited and booted.
