Tailored Expositions: Fresh Giorgio Armani SS27

As if presented at a Roman market or a Greek agora, the Spring/Summer 2027 collection of Giorgio Armani was introduced in Milan at the open-air courtyard of Palazzo Orsini. The Mediterranean was felt through and through, with earthy, sun-kissed tones in the linen fabrics that spoke of the elegance of simplicity. The sandy, rocky shores against which the Tyrrhenian washes up and the color of the scallop shells from which Venus emerged at the shore after having been blown over by the wind all starred in a palette that was muted, elegantly silent and quietly unpretentious.

Crafted for effortless movement, the technical prowess of Leo Dell’Orco was on display, as jackets and shirts of silk and linen created the illusion of weathered denim. This made the inclusion of a workwear aesthetic in the collection feel versatile—something to be worn elegantly at ease, combining the vibrant authority of a classically tailored suit with the unassuming attitude of a relaxed Mediterranean summer.

In the lightweight cashmere, breathable linen, cotton and silk, the sun-weathered surface and the salt-soaked look of the fabrics made the garments all the more summery. Compellingly beautiful, this fresh new assortment by Giorgio Armani should be suited and booted.
