Luxe Lineup: Chanel Ready-to-wear fall/Winter 2025 Collection
At the Grand Palais in Paris, the Chanel Fashion Creation Studio unveiled the Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2025 collection against the backdrop of a giant black ribbon. The sculptural set hints at the show’s focus on volume, proportion, and layering. With Matthieu Blazy set to take over as Artistic Director next season, the in-house team took the reins, delivering an authentic Chanel runway centered around the brand’s signatures.
Tulle, tweed, and bows dominate the collection, with repeated nods to the classic tweed suit with a modern romantic twist. There is no mistaking the house identity in the runway, with familiar elements from silhouettes to embellishments. While beautifully made and undeniably on-brand, the collection feels safe. Nearly every hallmark of Chanel appears somewhere, whether it be classic suiting, ladylike outerwear, or whimsical bows. However, there is no defining theme beyond simply Chanel.
For devoted clients, every piece is wearable and timeless. For a runway narrative, the lack of a singular direction makes the show feel more like a greatest hits compilation than a new chapter. It almost comes across as a collection to set the stage for Blazy to bring fresh perspective in Spring/Summer 2026, rather than serving as a moment itself. The show was exceptionally well-executed, but not necessarily show-stopping. For that reason, Chanel Ready-to-Wear Fall/Winter 2025 earns the rating Everything but the Fit. It is a polished but transitional collection that serves more as a prologue than a peak moment for the fashion house.
